Celebrate - Global Design Project - #GDP106

Hands up if you are time poor! Must be that time of year when Christmas is looming and you start to realise all the things you need to get done or had planned to do during the year and haven't yet. This week I discovered a great time management tool. Liquid Paper! My 'to do' list got so much smaller with a few swipes!

One thing I really love to make time for is handmade cards for family and friends. With limited time I like to work smarter rather than harder and make a few of the same design. That's okay right? And to save time on thinking this week I decided to use this great sketch over at Global Design Project.

Sketches are such a great way to spark your creativity. Using the same supplies I quickly whipped up a birthday and Christmas version. And actually the one with the Berry Burst bow could be used for any occasion worth celebrating.

I have used the Merry Music DSP for both cards - I just simply flipped the paper over for one of them. I love products that you can used for different occasions. This DSP is not just for Christmas!

The Foil Snowflakes add such a great detail to your cards - they do all the heavy lifting! You can see that I have let the DSP and snowflake overhang on the left hand side. I made my card on top of my envelope to ensure that it would fit in.

The sentiment is from the Tags & Trimmings stamp set.

For my birthday version I have added in some sentiments from the Big on Birthdays stamp set.

Now to whip up a few more for October birthdays!

Colour INKspiration Challenge #18 Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Colour INKspiration blog hop. Whether you have just come from my uber-talented friend Kelly Kent or are starting with me, make sure you check out the whole hop. You will be amazed at how a set of colours can be used in so many different ways. So on the colours for this challenge.
Plus your green of choice - optional
These are not my usual colours but I had fun using this new stamp set. You can get if for free. The details are at the end of this post.

A bit of masking to create a Sweet Sugarplum jumper (or sweater for our readers from the other side of the globe).

Some ribbon tabs - just because I could!

Creating the two tone sentiment is so easy. I inked up the solid 'season' stamp with Powder Pink ink then used my Sweet Sugarplum ink pad to ink up the bottom of the stamp. The edge of the ink pad gives you a nice straight edge and colour delineation. Too easy! There is a great outline stamp to make it all pop.

I added some branches in Old Olive underneath my fussy cut sentiment panel. I actually stamped the words on that panel - after I had stamped off several times - so that I could see where to place branches.

And then for extra dimension everything was raised with foam adhesive strips and Stampin' Dimensionals.

You get this fabulous stamp set for free during the months of September and October if your order is over $450. Why not get some friends together and combine your order to take advantage of this great freebie?

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by hopping around to see what all of the Colour INKspiration Crew have to show you. Then you have 12 days from today to make and upload your creation to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group. You don't have to have a blog to participate but if you do you can link back to your post. Make sure you use all of the challenge colours. We can't wait to see what you create with these gorgeous colours.

Next up we have my talented friend and conceptualiser (is that even a word???) of this group, Bronwyn Eastley. Make sure you check out her take on this colour combination. You will love it!

What Will You Stamp? - #135 - Merry Cafe

Welcome to this week's challenge at What Will You Stamp? Each week we feature a different stamp set and start off the challenge by sharing our ideas for using it and then it is over to you. So check out all of the Design Team projects and if you are up for the challenge you can add your projects too. You might even be chosen as our next Guest Designer!

This week we are showcasing Merry Cafe.

This stamp set coordinates with the Coffee Cups framelits from the Annual catalogue. There are lots of great images but I have chosen the little cup that says 'perk up'. For some reason I was rather taken with it!

It is a fun, bright card to cheer someone up!

Layering and splattering were on my mind when I made this card. I have used the lids of my Crumb Cake and Wink of Stella markers to flick ink across the cardstock. It adds texture without bulk. Even the Flirty Flamingo strip that I punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch got some splattering. And who wouldn't perk up after seeing some mini sequin trim!

The inside has a coffee pot which is fussy cut from the Coffee Cafe DSP.

There is so much you can do with this stamp set.

Make sure you check out all of the other projects from the other Design Team members and enter your project. We'd love to see what you create.
