Colour INKspiration Challenge #26 Blog Hop

Did you know green is my favourite colour? In particular I love aqua hues so Bermuda Bay is definitely one of Stampin' Up! favourites. The colours that we have for this challenge may have been meant for me! Whether you are starting with me or have hopped over from seeing Tanya Bell's stunning, feathery creation, you are sure to get some fabulous ideas and inspiration. Now on to our shades of green challenge!

Before I show you my card I must say that these colours are notoriously hard to photograph. I am sure you will hear that a lot from the design team this hop! I thought that these colours would be great for a teen card so I punched some cardstock using my new Tailored Tag punch and started playing with them. Much like making a jigsaw really. Millie,  my furry assistant, came up with this pattern! Well I had what I thought was a great pattern for the background until one swish from a furry tail made them all skewwiff. For the life of me I could not replicate my original pattern so she wins ...... as usual!

I never get tired of easel cards! They are just easy yet effective. I have used the Epic Celebrations stamp set (free with qualifying orders until the end of March). I love these sneakers. Very cool and perfect for a nearly teen that has an upcoming birthday.

I was after a birthday sentiment to go with the card in a similar font. I couldn't find what I wanted so with a bit of sticky note masking I made my own. The 'awesome' is from Epic Celebrations and the rest is from Truly Tailored. A few punched and overlapping shapes made a great mat and stopper for the easel section to stand behind.

The card folds flat to fit into a standard envelope. I was really happy with pattern I (or should I say Millie) created. It is a great alternative to Designer Series Paper and uses up all of those little scraps of cardstock we all have lying around.

Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends made quick work of the colouring. It is bit hard to see but the sentiment is raised on one row of Stampin' Dimensionals and the sneakers have a double stack underneath them.
